The End

Whew, I made it. I'd like to thank my small flock for the help and encouragement they provided through this often fun, but sometimes grueling and frustrating journey of discovery. It was refreshing to be able to stretch my wings and get a feel for all of the cool stuff out there on the Web. Our favorite by far was Flickr. There were so many cool photos AND things to do with them.

If this type of thing is available in the future you can count us chicks in! Maybe don't include the sandbox exercise next time. What with all the flailing about and false starts, I got sand stuck in places I never even knew I had.

Chicken Little (of course)

I thought it would be nice for us girls to gather 'round a steaming bowl of oatmeal and listen to a nice story this morning. I was able to download my personal favorite, Chicken Little. That Gosling Gilbert is sooooo, cute! The selection of chicken books and audio was very limited at MOLDI, but maybe in the future we'll have more to choose from. We'll make do, we always have.

Chickens that podcast

Well, just when you think you've heard everything, what comes along but farting chickens. Yes, seriously, an entire web page devoted to farting chickens. http://www.fartingchickens.com/

And, now here's the best part, they have podcasts of said chickens passing gas. The one titled A Day in the Country is quite humorous. Not that I condone such activity. No, not at all. Any self respecting hen will agree with me. Roosters, now they're a totally different story. I'm not even going to go there (especially since we had broccoli last night).

YouTube Chickens

Holy cow! You won't believe all the cool chicken videos I found on YouTube. There's even one called Elvis the Library Chicken. I bet he gets to read all the cool chicken books first!

Here's my favorite:

Chickens using Power Tools?

Typically I'd say that chickens shouldn't be allowed to use power tools. Mostly because they're not ergonomically suited to us, you know, not having opposable thumbs and all. But the library offers some Web power tools that you can't really hurt yourself with, so I flew on over and took a look.

I checked out BoingBoing. What I thought would be a list of cool stuff really only struck me as a mish mash of random blog posts. More of a time waster than anything else, but hey, I'm a chicken and I've all the time in the world. Nothing going on at the coop except a lot of pecking, drinking (water) and dozing. No egg laying yet. I'm just not in the mood.

Chick star

As a yound chick I never thought all that much about fame and popularity. But now that I'm a chicken starlet it's only natural the others would be interested in my chickhood antics.

Check out how easy it is to get famous with Comiqs (a Web 2.0 tool). http://comiqs.com/comics/hV34FPXgB2/

Docs for Googling Chickens

Who knew chickens could write poetry. Seems rather easy to throw a few sorta related words together and you can call it poetry. Here's what I came up with and it only took me 2 minutes, dang, I'm good! And it helped that Google Docs was so easy to use.

Chickens, chickens everywhere.
Can you find a chicken?
Listen for the rooster,
He'll guide you.
But be warned, he's protective and mean.
